Barn Raising this Saturday, September 15th, 2012!

The time has finally come! After months of hard work, the first beams of the boat barn will be going up this Saturday!

The Timber Framers Guild has already begun on fitting together the pieces of the roof frame (see: Building Progress for updated photos and videos). Work this Saturday will start as early as 5:00 AM, so come on down to the Rondout to watch it all come together (outside the construction safety fence, of course).

The program begins at 2:00 PM with music from Clearwater’s Power of Song and guest musicians, followed by a performance by POOK, the Percussion Orchestra of Kingston.

HRMM and Clearwater board members and staff, along with local and state officials will be commenting on the project starting at 3:00 PM.

4:00 PM the Ceremonial setting of the Purlins (a.k.a. the actual barn raising) begins with a performance by the Ancient Order of the Hibernians.

We are very excited to see the Kingston Home Port and Education Center become a reality and we hope you join us in celebrating this momentous occasion. See you Saturday!
