Hudson River Day and Groundbreaking Ceremony July 21st
Join us for the official groundbreaking ceremony at the HRMM, held in conjunction with Hudson River Day, July 21st, 2012.
Enjoy live music, free public deck tours of historic vessels, children’s activities, food and vendors, a photo booth, and much more! Admission to the museum grounds, music, deck tours, and children’s activities are free.

- The sloop Clearwater, built in 1969
- The tug Cornell, built in 1949
- The tug Gowanus Bay, built in 1956
- The barge Pennsylvania Railroad 399, built in 1942
- The tug Urger, built in 1901
- The steamboat Mary Theodora
- The steamboat Hestia
- The two-man submarine Seahorse
- The steam tug Mathilda, built in 1898
Discount admission to the museum! The Hudson River Maritime Museum is offering a special discounted admission to the museum during Hudson River Day. Normally $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and children, and $20 for families, admission has been reduced to $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and children, and $15 for families for this special event. Enjoy permanent and changing exhibits, films, live fish, model ships, and many, many historical artifacts of maritime and industrial life on the Hudson River.
Hudson River Day 2012 Schedule:
10:00 AM – Rondout Lighthouse Tour – tickets $12, purchased on the boat, cash only. The M/V Lark leaves from HRMM docks behind the museum building. Tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours.
11:00 AM – Museum grounds open. Children’s activities, photo booth ($5), vendors, info booths, and food booths ongoing throughout the day.

11:30 AM-12:00 PM – Live music: Linda Richards under the gazebo.
12:00-12:30 PM – Live Music: Double E on the Pennsylvania Railroad 399 barge (a.k.a. Pennsy).
12:30-1:00 PM – Groundbreaking ceremony for the Kingston Home Port and Education Center.
1:00 PM – Esopus Meadows Lighthouse Tour – Tickets $25 adults and seniors, $15 children ages 8-12, no children under 8. Tickets may be purchased on the boat. The M/V Lark leaves from HRMM docks behind the museum building. Tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
1:00-1:30 PM – Live Music: Rick Nestler under the gazebo.
1:30-2:00 PM – Live Music: Double E on the Pennsy Barge.
2:00-2:30 PM – Live Music: Rik Palieri under the gazebo.
2:30-3:00 PM – Live Music: Double E on the Pennsy Barge.
3:00-3:30 PM – Live Music: Clearwater’s Power of Song under the gazebo.
3:30-4:00 PM – Live Music: Double E on the Pennsy Barge.
4:00-4:30 PM – Live Music: Rick Nestler and Rik Palieri under the gazebo.
4:30-5:00 PM – Live Music: Double E on the Pennsy Barge.

SUNDAY, JULY 22nd SPECIAL EVENTS
3:30-4:30; 5:00-7:00 PM – Clearwater Public Sail and Museum Package – “Rondout Waterfront: Past, Present, and Future” Click Here to register. HRMM Board Member and Exhibition Curator Russell Lange and Curator Allynne Lange will give an informal gallery tour on “The Face of Work TODAY in the Hudson Valley” beginning at 3:30 PM followed by a 5:00 PM sail with Ulster County Tourism Director of Group Sales and Marketing, Lisa Berger, who will speak about the impact of cultural heritage tourism in the region.
5:00-8:00 PM – Pennsy Barge Collective 2nd Annual Fundraiser: “Clam and Jam” – live music, clams, corn and potatoes for $10, Keegan Ales $5.
